Robert Callison
Robert Callison began his teaching and coaching career at Cholla Junior High School in 1992, and helped start the Bradshaw Mountain High School program in 1995.
Moving back to the metropolitan area, Callison accepted his first head coaching job at Tempe McClintock High School in 1997. In 2000, he took over the Gilbert Mesquite High School program, in its second year.
In 2005, he moved to Mountain View Mesa High School, where the Toros would eventually win state titles in 2014 and 2015. The 2015 team finished the season ranked No. 24 nationally by both WIN Magazine and Intermat.
Callison moved to Casteel High School in 2016 and guided the Colts to state titles in 2021 and 2022. He finished as just the second wrestling coach in Arizona history to win state championships with two different high schools.
He served on the Arizona Interscholastic Association wrestling executive committee from 2000-2013. He was president of the Arizona Wrestling Coaches Association from 2000-2008. Callison co-directed the Arizona Wrestling Coaches Association Clinic from 2008-17. He served on the Arizona USA Wrestling coaching staff from 1996-2023 and was the national junior director from 2008-23.
Callison was a club sponsor for the Arizona Fellowship of Christian Athletes from 1997-2023, and became the head clinician for FCA summer wrestling camps from 2014-22.
He finished his career with a record of 479-124-2.
