Jim Haskin

·        Native of Lombard, IL, moving to Marietta area with family in 1984

·        Competed 1984-85 season at Lassiter High School (Marietta, GA) for NWHOF coach Steve Day before returning to native Illinois to finish senior season

·        1985 graduate of Glenbard East High School (Lombard, IL)

·        1992 graduate of the University of West Georgia (Carrollton, GA) B.S. Health and Physical Education

·        2000 graduate of the University of Alabama (M.S. Health Administration)

·        2007 graduate of Lincoln Memorial University (Ed.S. Health/Physical Ed.)

·        30 years of service to wrestling as one of Georgia’s most successful coaches

·        1 year (1992-93) - assistant coach - Cedar Grove High School (Ellenwood, GA)

·        2 years (1993-95) - head coach - Druid Hills High School (Atlanta, GA)

·        27 years (1995-2022) - head coach - Pope High School (Marietta, GA)

·        7 years (2007-14) - Team Georgia USA Wrestling coaching staff

·        Compiled a 570-148 record over his 30 seasons as a head coach

·        His Pope teams captured three GHSA traditional state titles (2011 - 2013) and four GHSA dual meet state titles (2012, 2013, 2014, 2020) with two traditional state and two dual state runner-up finishes

·        Led the Greyhounds to 13 titles in the always tough Cobb County Tournament, 14 dual meet region championships and 11 traditional region championships

·        2012-13 squad achieved a #36 national ranking by Amateur Wrestling News

·        Coached 19 individual state champions and 81 state place winners

·        Inductee and past president of the Cobb County Wrestling Association

·        2X GHSA State Coach of the Year - Georgia Athletic Coaches Association

·        12X GHSA Region Coach of the Year - GACA

·        13X Cobb County Coach of the Year - Marietta Daily Journal

·        Longtime co-director of the widely respected East Cobb Wrestling Camp

·        Also coached cross country, softball and girls’ soccer at Pope, leading the Lady Greyhound soccer teams to four GHSA state championship titles

·        Resides in Marietta, GA with wife, Debra; adult sons: Tyler, Mack, Patrick
