·        Michigan native settled in the Atlanta area with a family move in the 4th grade

·        Starred at Redan High School (Stone Mountain, GA) before returning to Michigan for his senior year of high school

·        2X GHSA AAAA (large school) champion (1985,1987) and 1X GHSA state runner-up (1986) for NWHOF coach Brian Hage

·        1988 Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Class A state champion at Royal Oak Kimball HS (126 lbs.)

·        Posted a 170-3 high school record on his way to becoming a Fargo All-American, 2X high school All-American and 2X Sunshine Open champion

·        Georgia’s state Wrestler of the Year (1987)

·        1993 graduate of Carson Newman University

·        1992 NAIA national champion and tournament Most Outstanding Wrestler; 2X NAIA All-American; collegiate record of 170-22-2

·        4X Pembroke Open champion, 4X Mid-South champion, 3X Midwest Classic champion

·        Outstanding senior level international competitor winning the 2000 Military World Championship and placing 6th in 2002

·        6 years as an assistant coach at the college level with stints at Nebraska, Georgia State, Cornell and UTC, coaching numerous NCAA tournament qualifiers, All-Americans and an NCAA champion

·        3 years (2004-07) as a successful high school coach at the Wesleyan School, (Peachtree Corners, GA) leading team to the 2007 GHSA AA state championship and recognized as the state Coach of the Year

·        Successful entrepreneur (2007-2013) as co-owner/director of Compound Wrestling in Buford, GA, respected as one of the premier training facilities in the southeast

·        2X NAIA national Coach of the Year (2019,2020), 5X Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Coach of the Year

·        Highly sought after clinician and camp instructor throughout the country

·        Currently in 7th year as head coach at Reinhardt University where he has coached one NAIA national champion and 21 athletes to All-American status

·        Resides in Waleska, GA; adult daughter Gabrielle (Martinez); granddaughter Charlee, grandson Trace
