Rich Vetock

Rich graduated from Lock Haven State College in 1967, but was not a member of the wrestling team there. He got “Wrestling Fever” watching the great teams and individuals on the mat, and it stuck with him and influenced the rest of his life. After college, Rich became an Assistant Coach at Central Cambria High School from 1969 to 1971, and helped to start the wrestling program. He became the Head Coach from 1971-1977.

After retiring from coaching, Rich started cultivating other interests. In 1990, he developed one of the first high school wrestling websites in the US. Later that year, it was named the #1 high school website in the USA! This was the start of several web based tools that Rich innovated to gather and share information and support his sport, and its coaches and fans.

Rich has been named the District 6 Man of the Year, and the USA Wrestling Man of the Year Man. He developed and still maintains The District 6 Wrestling website. Among its features, Rich posts results of dual meets and tournaments for the 35 teams in District 6, along with other pertinent information with happenings in District 6.

He and Tom Elling started and published a high school football newspaper for 7 years, then Rich designed and launched the PA Football website, which he still maintains. Rich has been a Scorekeeper at the PIAA State Tournament for decades, and has been the Real Time Website Scoring Coordinator from 1990 to present.  Rich innovated and continues as the Seed Points Coordinator for both the District 6 Dual Meet and Individual Tournaments. This task requires getting coaches to promptly provide results, and he always meets the deadline.

Rich has been a nationwide leader of Internet based wrestling information pages for nearly 30 years. His efforts GREATLY aid and promote the sport of wrestling and its rich fan base and coaching organizations – not to mention the Sports governing bodies. Rich is the currently the Co-Owner and Partner of Specialty Promotions, Inc. in Ebensburg. He and his wife Sally reside in Ebensburg and are the parents of Barry and Amy.
