Mike Jeffries

Legendary Helias Catholic High School wrestling coach Mike Jeffries was the poster child for excellence, durability and reliability.

He was head wrestling coach for 34 years, head football coach for seven years and an assistant football coach for 30 years, and spent 43 years as a teacher. He returned to the wrestling program as a volunteer assistant coach for seven years.

Jeffries led his teams to 12 state championships, 336 regular season dual victories, and a combined 623 wins counting dual tournaments. His teams had five 30-plus dual winning streaks, including a state record 74.

He was inducted into the Missouri Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2005.
