Barry has been officiating for over 30 years. He is an executive committee member of The Roanoke Valley Officials Association, serving on the board for the last for 14 years and serves as a trainer for new officials.

Barry is an officiating fixture in the valley and in addition to regular season duties, has officiated many district, regional and state tournaments.

Barry's knowledge of the rules and quiet demeanor reflects the professionalism he brings to the mat. He is an excellent ambassador for wrestling officials and is thought of highly by all of the coaches in Virginia, but especially the western part of the state.

Barry graduated from Fieldale-Collinsville High School Cavaliers in 1980, went on to wrestle for Virginia Tech Wrestling before graduating in 1985 with a degree in Marketing Education.

He has been married to Missy Mason for 31 years and has a son, Trevor, 24 and a daughter, Audrey, 21.

Barry has worked for Dominion Air & Machinery Co for 29 years.
