Dennis Pirch

Dennis Pirch was the head wrestling coach Payson High School for 28 years from 1973-2001. He had the opportunity to start the program, with encouragement of Tom Meck (Athletic Director), which developed into one of the best programs within the state of Arizona. With tremendous parent supprt, the encouragement of his wife Kathy, community involvement, and young men willing to aspire to the dream, the Longhorns earned 10 State titles, 5 State runner-ups, and 23 divisional championships during this time. The accomplishments of the Payson wrestling program was a true team effort of everyone in the community, athletes, and coaches. Dennis was awarded the National High School Wrestling Coach of the Year for 1997.
