Chris Krueger
A standout wrestler at Denver High School, Chris Krueger went on to coach, teach and be an adminstrator at his alma mater, leading his teams at Denver High School and Denver-Tripoli High School to outstanding success from 2000 to 2020.
His teams won 10 North Iowa Cedar League titles and won 77 consecutive conference duals, earning Krueger eight NICL Coach of the Year awards. He led his teams to three 2A state championships and six runner-up finishes while winning 14 team trophies overall in Classes A and 2A. After being named Class 3A Assistant Coach of the Year for Charles City High School in 1999, Krueger was named the 2010 2A Coach of the Year for Denver-Tripoli in 2010.
He received the Bob Siddens Iowa High School Coaching Excellence Award from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum in 2014.
Krueger had a career dual record of 350-105 and coached 14 individual state champions, 25 state finalists and 60 state medalists.
He is a nationally certified performance mindset coach who continues to help high school, college and Olympic-level wrestlers to reach their goals.
Krueger is currently an associate principal at Mason City High School.
The son of Darrel and Steffanie Krueger, Chris and his wife, Jennifer, have three adult sons, Creed, Cael, and Camden, and reside in Waverly, Iowa.
