James Keen

Jim Keen has been involved in the sport of wrestling for over 50 years. From competitor, inventor and CEO of Cliff Keen Athletics to tournament sponsor, organizational leader and legislative liaison, he has positively impacted the world of wrestling.

While still in high school, Jim and his father (Coach Cliff Keen) explored the creation of protective headgear. From the eventual invention of a headgear, the Cliff Keen Athletics Company was born. Today the largest manufacturer of wrestling equipment and uniforms, their products are synonymous with wrestling throughout the world.

Cliff Keen Athletics also sponsors tournaments around the nation. Events such as the Wrestling USA/Cliff Keen Dream Team Classic, Las Vegas World Championships, Tulsa Nationals, Reno World Championships and the Kickoff Classic have provided competitive opportunities for grapplers throughout the United States and have given excellent exposure to the sport.

Constantly available to serve the world of wrestling, Jim has been involved with USA Wrestling, the National Wrestling Coaches Association and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame where he currently serves as vice-chairman of the Board of Governors. He has served on many national committees and has worked diligently with congressional leaders addressing the implications of Title IX.
