Nick Mitchell

Nick Mitchell, a Johnston, Iowa native, built one of the most dominant legacies in college wrestling as both an elite competitor and a transformative coach.

A three-time All-American at Wartburg College and 2012 Wartburg Hall of Fame inductee, Mitchell went on to become the first head wrestling coach at Grand View University in 2008, turning the program into a national powerhouse.

Over 17 seasons, he led Grand View to a 205–12 dual meet record, 13 of the last 14 NAIA National Championships, 157 All-Americans, and 45 individual national champions.

Known for his “Championship Lifestyle” philosophy and commitment to excellence on and off the mat, Mitchell’s impact helped define a historic era in the sport.
