Jim Meyerhoff "Leading High School Wrestling into the 21st Century" Ballou Junior High Franklin Pierce High School Pacific Lutheran University Jim Meyerhoff has contributed in all areas of the sport of wrestling in Washington State, but it has been his leadership in the sport where he has made his greatest contributions. Jim was a very successful collegiate wrestler, competing in the NCAA Nationals twice. He coached wrestling for eighteen years before going into school administration. He coached five state champions and 26 individual state place winners at Franklin Pierce High School and produced four NAIA All-Americans in three years at Pacific Lutheran University. Jim also was wrestling official at the high school and collegiate level for 28 years. Jim's leadership contributions to wrestling have been extensive both at the interscholastic and international levels of the sport. He directed the State Cultural Exchange Program for 12 years and provided the leadership for the State Wrestling Coaches Association as its president for six years. Jim currently serves as an Assistant Executive Director at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association where he is chairman for the sport of wrestling. He has been directly involved in all 15 of the Mat Classic State Wrestling Championships either as one of the tournament managers or as the tournament director. He most recently chaired the 50-year celebration culminating with the ceremonies at Mat Classic XV. Jim was inducted into the was inducted into the Washington State Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame in 1989 and the University of Puget Sound Hall of Fame in 1990. He was also inducted into the State Athletic Directors' Hall of Fame in 2001.
