Haselrig credits family, coaches for success

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - Carlton Haselrig has been honored numerous times for his extraordinary career. He's been inducted in halls of fame representing Pitt-Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania and NCAA Division II.

But the record-setting heavyweight had not gotten the call from the most prestigious wrestling hall of fame in the country. Until now.

Haselrig will be part of the 2016 National Wrestling Hall of Fame, the organization announced on Monday.

“I'm very happy and pleased and humbled and honored,” Haselrig said. “It was kind of a surprise. It was something that I've always wanted. I feel pretty happy about it that it's finally coming true.”
