
Good's passion for wrestling leads to the Hall of Fame

Ron Good wrestled in high school at John Marshall. Well, he was on the team. The Bears were a wrestling powerhouse in those days. Virgil Milliron coached. Olympic gold medalist Wayne Wells and eventual Big Eight champion Bryan Rice were his stars.
“I was only a backup,” Good said. “One of those mopup partners for Bryan Rice. Blink your eye, the guy would get behind you.”
But Good enjoyed wrestling. He would go to the matches at the OU Field House. One night at a dual, Good picked up a magazine. Amateur Wrestling News. Good noticed the publication address. Oklahoma City.
Good dropped by the little house near 36th and Western, north of downtown, where the Hoke family produced the bible of college wrestling.
