Krista Graff Hired for State Chapter Director of the NWHOF
STILLWATER, Okla. -- After seven years as Development and Special Events Manager, Krista Graff has accepted the position of State Chapter Director for the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Executive Director Lee Roy Smith announced Thursday.
Graff will be replacing retiring Director Mike Clair. She will be responsible for providing direction and services to the volunteer leaders who operate the Hall of Fame’s 35 State Chapter programs across the United States. Each chapter hosts a banquet and induction ceremony honoring those individuals at the grass roots level of the sport with either the Lifetime Service, Outstanding American or Medal of Courage awards.

“I have big shoes to fill with Mike retiring, but I am very excited to begin working with the State Chapters,” Graff said.
“Krista has done a terrific job over the last seven years of building relationships within the sport,” Smith said. “Those relationships will serve her well in her new position as the success of this program over the past 21 years is because of a team effort among our staff, board members and each state’s dedicated volunteers. She will continue to serve our chapter leaders with the same standards of excellence she has displayed in fulfilling her duties with the organization over the past nine years.”
Graff began her career with the Hall of Fame in 2005, first serving as Office Manager before being promoted to Development and Special Events Manager in March of 2007. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors in Sociology and a minor in Communications in 2002.
"Krista brings the right skill sets to the State Chapter Director position,” said Hall of Fame Board Chair Terry Shockley. “Her event management, attention to detail, technology savvy, and her knowledge of our sport and constituents will serve the State Chapter organization well.”
Graff will play a critical role in providing resources to help individual chapters enhance their current program while encouraging the formation of new chapters in other states.
“We have several capacity-building strategies we want to employ in the near future that will bring greater awareness to those individuals we honor and to the communities in which they have made a difference because of the young people they have mentored and influenced in a positive way through this great sport,” said Tom Slowey, chair of the Hall of Fame’s State Chapter Advisory Committee for the Board of Governors. "Krista brings knowledge and experience that will help us strengthen and grow our chapter programs across the United States,” Slowey said.
