Honors Weekend to be Shared in New Ways

STILLWATER, OK – This weekend, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum will induct its 39th class of honorees during the annual Honors Weekend celebration. For the first time, portions of the weekend’s activities will be transmitted to the public at no cost.

First, Stillwater Radio will conduct a remote broadcast during the Friday evening reception and presentation of plaques at the Museum. Honorees and other wrestling celebrities will be interviewed on KSPI/KGFY from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Central time. Special thanks to C-Star Management for their support of this project.

Later, the formal induction ceremony will be webcast live courtesy of FloWrestling. This is the first time that the inductions have been broadcast. Viewers need only a free account to watch the event on www.FloWrestling.org. The broadcast will begin at approximately 8 pm following the dinner portion of the banquet.

“We’re very excited to offer these opportunities to share our celebration of wrestling with those who cannot be in Stillwater this weekend,” said Lee Roy Smith, Executive Director of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. “This is particularly important this year since one of our incoming Distinguished Members is not able to travel. We are thankful to FloWrestling for their willingness to help us share this event with Frank Bettucci. We know his family and friends are excited to watch the ceremony during their own celebration with Frank in Virginia.”

For those attending or tuning into the festivities, the full schedule for Honors Weekend 2015 is below. This will be the last time that Honors Weekend is held in the museum before a full interior renovation. The 40th anniversary of the event will coincide with the grand reopening of the museum in June 2016.
